CR9′S FIRST “EL CLASICO” ENDS IN LOSS

Barcelona takes the lead in La Liga standings as they defeat Real Madrid 1-0. Ibrahimovic, who came in as a sub for Henry, scored the sole goal off a volley from a Daniel Alves cross in the 56th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo almost gave Madrid its first goal in the 20th minute, but was denied by Victor Valdes. CR9 had his shining moments, showing great form and having great touches on the ball. Ronaldo’s replacement, Benzema, nearly equalized the game in the 80th minute with a shot just over the bar.
Barcelona now leads La Liga with 30 points, Madrid behind them with 28.

RIBERY CAUGHT IN SPANISH TUG-O-WAR

French midfielder and Zidane-padowan Franck Ribery is now at the top of Barca’s most-wanted list. While Real Madrid will be ready with an offer when the time comes, FCB’s Pep Guardiola is prepared to do whatever it takes to make a home for Ribery at Camp Nou. (more…)
