A FUTURE CLASSIC AT STAMFORD BRIDGE

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

There must be some explanation for today’s performance.  Chelsea played without Drogba, without Essien, and pulled out their biggest win of the season.  Sunderland clearly suffered more without their African players.  Lampard and Anelka had 2 goals a piece.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: AGUERO & DROGBA ON FIRE IN ATLETICO-CHELSEA SHOWDOWN

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Drogba

While the match got off to a slow start, things heated up with a beautiful goal from sub-in Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero, giving Atletico a much needed advantage over Chelsea.

And just as the crowd was getting used to the idea of a win for Atletico, Drogba, fresh off of a UCL suspension, scored twice in the most exciting 10 minutes of Champions League play that I can remember. If that weren’t enough, Aguero equalized with a second goal for Atletico off of a set piece in stoppage time. Each side went home with a well-deserved point. This is why we love the Champions League.
